Christmas Day

Santa came, ate, left some fun things, and went on his jolly way.

We spent Christmas day...

unwrapping,

gaming,

building,

rolling,

surprising,

riding,

learning,

wearing,

smiling,
visiting, remembering and relaxing.

Hope your Christmas was filled with many wonderful things ending in 'ing' too!

Christmas Eve

Anyone that knows me - knows that every year
I wish for beautiful, giant, fluffy white, piles of snowflakes to fall from heaven
and cover my world for Christmas.

Christmas Eve morning I awoke to exactly that!

A Dreamy Winter Wonderland.

Trees blanketed in snow make everything seem enchanted and magical.

After retrieving Kenisha from the airport,
the girls and I spent the day preparing for our Christmas Eve dinner.

This year we embellished the tables in silver and gold,

and enjoyed the company of all our favorite people.

These two surprised me with...

these darling beauties. I love them so much!

As tradition goes,
we opened up pajamas and read our new Christmas story.

Then finished off the evening
with delicious Sour Cream Chocolate Cake.
 Recipe

Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

1 box Devil's Food cake mix
1 box of instant chocolate pudding
8 ozs sour cream
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup warm water
12 ozs semi sweet chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients together, adding the chips last after the other ingredients have been mixed. Pour into greased bundt pan. (I spray mine with Pam spray and that's it.) Bake for 60 minutes at 325. Cool in pan, flip onto plate. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Store leftovers in fridge.

Feeling Blessed!

Christmas For the Birds...

The boys and I spent the evening putting together a gift for the neighborhood birds.
We thought they might like a place to stop and rest
and have a bit of something to eat.

We strung cranberries

and popcorn together to make edible garlands.

We covered pine cones with peanut butter and bird seed,
and hung them on the tree with twine.

We hope they gather their friends and family here for Christmas dinner.

Of course we listened to Christmas music while working on the bird tree.
I rounded up a few of my favorites from my childhood for you.

Our Christmas Family Room

The Great Room dressed in its Christmas best.

The stockings are hung.

The buffet wears a burlap runner,
and is adorned with glittered pine cones and glowing candles.

Along with reminders of the reason for the season.

Gnomeo the Christmas Elf
watches over the children and reports to Santa periodically.

The tree is clad in glistening icicles, and is home to a few winter birds.

You can read the tree story Here

The week sure is flying by, Christmas will be here before we know it.
I hope you are all ready and can relax and enjoy these last days.
Alas, I am not... so I am off to start my wrapping marathon.
I will be listening to This and This to help calm my last minute Christmas anxiety.
